Detection criteria

Jamming criterion

NIC < NACp <

Reference: NIC ≥ 7 good, 5–7 degraded, < 5 poor. NACp < 8 is a common alternative.

Jamming filters

Count low values for up to after onset of degradation

After that the aircraft counts as 'unknown' (recovery tail / persistently degraded).

Ignore below Ignore aircraft that never report a good value GPS loss reported by receiver (gpsOkBefore) counts as jamming MLAT fallback of ADS-B v1/v2 aircraft counts as jamming

Spoofing

GNSS vs baro altitude ≥ Position jump ≥ Cluster at shared position GPS loss counts as spoofing (in cells) Merge cases with gaps up to Jump counts if false position persists ≥ Ignore offsets larger than Min. indications per case

Moderate from % Severe from %

Min. aircraft/cell −1 correction

Regions

Live: public APIs (~1 request/s), so the more regions, the slower the refresh. Backfill: archives contain all regions; more regions only cost processing time and storage. After changing backfill regions, reprocess days that were already processed.

History (backfill)

Processes daily archives from adsb.lol (ODbL; ~3–4 GB download and ~10–20 min processing per day). Where both live and archive data exist, the more complete source is used per hour.

From Up to and incl.

Also reprocess days already processed

Backfill automatically every day (after 07:00 UTC)

Grey outline = processed with different regions than the current selection.

Compact database afterwards (frees disk space; may take a while)

Sources & status

ADS-B data: adsb.lol (ODbL), adsb.fi. Indications are derived from aircraft navigation quality reports and are heuristic.
